Fermentation equipment is a widely used reaction device for microbial growth. In a fermentation tank, various microorganisms grow, metabolize, and form fermentation products in an appropriate environment. Fermentation equipment is currently widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, monosodium glutamate, enzyme preparations, and food.
Fermentation equipment tank types can be divided into two categories: one is anaerobic fermentation tank type (such as alcohol fermentation), and the other is ventilated fermentation tank type. This type of equipment is commonly used in standard tank shapes. The fermentation tank designed by our factory belongs to the standard tank type. When designing fermentation equipment of various specifications, it is necessary to achieve a tight design structure, sufficient strength and service life, strive for fewer internal accessories, smooth surfaces, no dead corners, and improve oxygen capacity. There is sufficient heat exchange area to ensure fermentation can be carried out at a suitable temperature. Pay attention to the sealing performance of equipment.
The fermentation tank designed by our company is a standard tank type, which adopts a jacket type when the nominal volume is below 6M³. The cooling or heating of the fermentation broth is accomplished by a jacket. When the nominal volume is 6M³ or more, the cooling of the fermentation broth is carried out by a vertical exhaust pipe. We have made improvements in the connection of the drainage pipes inside the tank, mainly to avoid creating blind spots by opening multiple holes on the tank body. This method has achieved satisfactory results in practical use.
The baffle installed inside the tank is used to improve mixing efficiency. The presence or absence of baffles directly affects the condition of fermentation gas flipping. Therefore, it is very important to install baffles inside the tank. According to relevant data on the increase or decrease in the number of baffles and changes in the width and size of the baffles, using 4 or 6 baffles with a width of 1/10D inside the tank is ideal for improving mixing efficiency. If there are cooling pipes inside the tank, there is no need to add baffles.
The agitator is the main device in fermentation equipment, which achieves heat transfer by stirring gas to fully mix fresh culture medium components, air, and mycelium. At present, there are three basic forms of agitators: flat blades (straight blades), curved blades, and scissor blades. The equipment provided by our factory uses blade cutters. This type of blade cutting worm gear agitator has a shearing effect on the fermentation gas, and the fermentation liquid flows radially and axially. Compared with the straight blade worm gear agitator, under the same diameter, speed, blade width and other conditions, the blade cutting agitator consumes less power, but the effect is very good. It is currently widely used in China.
In terms of motor configuration, we use Y-shaped motors (horizontal) and YJL type motors (vertical), usually using vertical motors for nominal volumes below 15M³. Horizontal motors can also be used.
The connection of the tank surface is also very important for fermentation tanks. Based on our years of experience, we have designed a reasonable connection direction, which is very convenient for workers to operate. The connection size has been calculated and can be negotiated and changed if the user has specific requirements. For special specifications, our company can design separately.
